I love cycling. It was this love and my desire to compete that drew me into the world of triathlons. Competing or even just finishing a triathlon is one of the most physically demanding and satisfying experiences you can have. Today we will deep dive into the best triathlon bike shoes.

But you need the right gear. That’s why I’ve already looked at the best tri suits for IronMan and why I believe it is important to have the right shoes when riding your bike. I’ve been fortunate enough to try an array of pairs while competing and have to say that nothing beats the [easyazon_link identifier=”B091P8V77B” locale=”US” tag=”upbeat-jan-20″]Mavic Cosmic Ultimate[/easyazon_link]

These shoes are more than just comfortable; they are versatile, easy to slip on, and quick drying. They will help you to shave time off your best in a race. Of course, you’ll need the best watch for triathletes to help with verifying this.

The Mavic Cosmic Ultimate – Best Overall

[easyazon_image align=”none” height=”500″ identifier=”B091P8V77B” locale=”US” src=”https://images-na.ssl-images-amazon.com/images/I/51beBPCYcGL.jpg” tag=”upbeat-jan-20″ width=”500″]

View on Amazon

Although Mavic is not devoted to tri-athletes they have some excellent products and make shoes for many of the Tour de France racers; that’s pretty impressive credentials.

It is worth noting that you can get these in a highly visible but stylish yellow. You can also opt for the black and white version if you prefer to keep your shoes and yourself on a slightly lower profile.

Made of Carbon

Weigh Just 8 ½ ounces

Ortholite Insole

Breathable Mesh

Advantages

Manufacture Materials

The [easyazon_link identifier=”B091P8V77B” locale=”US” tag=”upbeat-jan-20″]Mavic Cosmic Ultimate[/easyazon_link] has an outsole made from carbon SLR. This makes it stiff enough to ensure your energy is transferred to the pedals and not wasted. The inner sole is made from ortholite. This material is designed to change by less than 5% over time.

That means it will not lose the cushioning or comfort; no matter how long you keep the shoes for!

Velcro Under Insole

This strap is very adjustable; making it easy to get the comfort level just right every time. It also makes it easy to slip the shoe on and fasten; minimizing your transition time between stages of the triathlon.

This is a clever design feature. A dial and the Velcro straps are firmly attached to the shoe with laces. You simply pull the Velcro strap over and turn the dial. The shoe will feel like part of your foot.

Grip

The [easyazon_link identifier=”B091P8V77B” locale=”US” tag=”upbeat-jan-20″]Cosmic Ultimate[/easyazon_link] has tread on the heel to aid your grip when pedaling hard. You can also use the outsole to guide you effortlessly into the cleats.

Combine this with the carbon energy frame and you’ll feel the difference as you climb the hills.

Breathability

Even on the hottest of days, these shoes proved to be effective at transferring the heat away from your feet and allowing them to breathe.

This is due to the inclusion of several breathable panels and the carbon outsole. It really works!

Disadvantages

Potentially Uncomfortable

There is no doubt that the [easyazon_link identifier=”B091P8V77B” locale=”US” tag=”upbeat-jan-20″]Mavic Cosmic Ultimate[/easyazon_link] is a rigid shoe. This should help support your foot and allow you to focus on pedaling. However, it is possible that you’ll find the carbon too unforgiving; making your foot uncomfortable.

Unable To Loosen The Shoe

The dial to tighten the shoe is excellent. Unfortunately, if you overtighten it you can’t simply loosen it a little.

It will loosen the straps completely; meaning you have to tighten them again. This could take valuable seconds if you’re struggling to get the right feel and comfort level.

Pearl iZUMi Tri Fly V Carbon – Best For Value

[easyazon_image align=”none” height=”302″ identifier=”B00M0486RI” locale=”US” src=”https://images-na.ssl-images-amazon.com/images/I/41Ct2maFngL.jpg” tag=”upbeat-jan-20″ width=”500″]

View on Amazon

This shoe represents great value for the money. In fact I was torn between the [easyazon_link identifier=”B00M0486RI” locale=”US” tag=”upbeat-jan-20″]Pearl iZUMi Tri Fly V Carbon[/easyazon_link] and the Mavic Cosmic Ultimate. Ultimately the Mavic is more affordable.

But, these shoes are still a great choice for the best triathlon bike shoes.

Carbon Sole For Energy Transfer

Weigh just 9 ounces

Oversized & Offset Heel Loop

Designed to be used without socks

Advantages

Extremely Comfortable

The [easyazon_link identifier=”B00M0486RI” locale=”US” tag=”upbeat-jan-20″]Pearl iZUMi[/easyazon_link] is exceptionally well constructed and designed to be worn without socks. This speeds up transition time when racing while still offering a surprising level of comfort.

The lack of socks also prevents the discomfort of a sock moving as you pedal; and you being unable to do anything about it.

This comfort is further enhanced by the single strap construction. It helps to prevent chafing or hot spots while still holding your foot firmly in position.

It even has a loop on the back of the shoe to facilitate the quick transfer of your feet from swimming to cycling shoes.

Energy Transfer

Once again the carbon sole makes it easy for the energy you produce to be transferred directly to the bike. The fact that the carbon is stiff allows energy to be transferred to a focal point; the pedal; regardless of where your foot is positioned.

It is also relevant to note that a carbon sole will not allow the pedal to dig into your foot. While this may not be an issue for a few races, over time this can cause injury to your feet; carbon soles protect against this.

Ventilation

The [easyazon_link identifier=”B00M0486RI” locale=”US” tag=”upbeat-jan-20″]Tri Fly V Carbon[/easyazon_link] has an upper lined mesh and utilizes direct vent technology. This allows your foot to breathe as you pedal; helping to disperse the heat buildup and ensure your energy and focus is on the bike and not your own comfort.

Disadvantages

Sizing Is Small

The sizing guide has a strong hint of the European. It is highly unlikely that your normal size will apply when purchasing these shoes.

You’ll probably need to go a size or even a size and a half bigger when you order these. For this reason, it is a good idea to try the shoes before you commit to buying. No matter how comfortable they can be; they won’t if you buy the wrong size.

Cost

These are not the cheapest shoes on the market although they do represent excellent value for the money.

Providing you’re getting serious about your triathlon endeavors then they are worth the investment; they will give you years of service.

Hardness

Just as the [easyazon_link identifier=”B0153RJY2Y” locale=”US” tag=”upbeat-jan-20″]Cosmic Ultimate[/easyazon_link] could potentially give you comfort issues with the rigidity of the shoe; so too could the [easyazon_link identifier=”B00M0486RI” locale=”US” tag=”upbeat-jan-20″]Tri Fly V carbon[/easyazon_link]. It is best to ease them into your routine gently.

Scott Tri Carbon – Best On A Budget

[easyazon_image align=”none” height=”500″ identifier=”B018SYKPO0″ locale=”US” src=”https://images-na.ssl-images-amazon.com/images/I/41ZoE4to8dL.jpg” tag=”upbeat-jan-20″ width=”500″]

View on Amazon

Weigh just 9 ounces

Excellent closure system

HMX Carbon Outsole

Hook & Loop strap system

Wrap fit technology

Advantages

Comfortable

The [easyazon_link identifier=”B018SYKPO0″ locale=”US” tag=”upbeat-jan-20″]Scott Tri Carbon[/easyazon_link] has 3D Nylon Airmesh incorporated into the upper microfiber material. This is soft enough to ensure you remain comfortable while breathable enough to make sure your foot never gets too hot.

There are no harsh seams inside the shoe; you can comfortably wear the Scott Tri carbon without socks if you wish.

It also utilizes an adjustable ergological insole system which allows them to pre-shape the insoles to your foot; providing maximum comfort and support.

Loop System

There is a large loop at the back of the shoe; this is designed to help you slide your foot in and out of the shoe. Which you need to do in a hurry will depend on which stage of the race you’re at.

Boa Enclosure

The [easyazon_link identifier=”B018SYKPOK” locale=”US” tag=”upbeat-jan-20″]Scott Tri Carbon[/easyazon_link]utilizes a dial system to close your shoe. However, this dial is exceptionally good as it can be tweaked in both directions to allow you to create the perfect tightness and comfort for your foot.

There is an adjustable dial, strong and light laces and lace guides. The dial simply tightens the laces to ensure a snug fit across the shoe.

What is particularly good is the ability to loosen these laces by just 1mm at a time.

Disadvantages

Can be difficult to put on

There is no doubt that these triathlon bike shoes are a snug fit. This is great when riding but, even with the loop and the full release of the tightening dial; it can be difficult to slide onto your feet quickly.

Considering that the right cycling shoes can help you to shave just seconds off your overall time; you may lose as much as you can gain when trying to get these shoes on.

It’s worth noting that getting them off is easy!

Sizing on the small size

The Scott Tri Carbon appears to adopt European sizes as well. Again this means you need to go a size or maybe even two sizes above your normal.

It is definitely worth trying before you buy to ensure they will be comfortable when you ride.

Not as Efficient at energy transfer

The [easyazon_link identifier=”B018SYKPO0″ locale=”US” tag=”upbeat-jan-20″]Scott Tri Carbon[/easyazon_link] cycling shoe offers a 9 on the rigidity scale. This is the lowest of these three options and may make a difference to the efficiency of your energy transfer.

A Final Word On The best Triathlon Bike Shoes

Best triathlon bike shoes

There is no doubt that all 3 of these shoes are capable of doing the job. However, if you really want to gain those extra seconds and increase the power going through your bike then you need to choose the [easyazon_link identifier=”B0153RJY2Y” locale=”US” tag=”upbeat-jan-20″]Mavic Cosmic Ultimate[/easyazon_link].

Put on a pair of these best triathlon bike shoes and you’ll feel like you’re not even wearing shoes. But at the same time, it will give you the rigidity and breathability you need to increase your performance.

It is essential to remember that these are not just bike shoes, they have been created with the tri-athlete in mind and will help you to achieve the ride of your life!

Competing in a triathlon is hard work. Not only do you have to be physically fit enough to handle running, cycling, and swimming; you also have to consider whether you can afford the best tri suit for ironman while cycling or running. Let’s face it, an exercise bike simply isn’t going to cut it.

That’s the problem faced by most tri-athletes, is that you need to invest in a good suit; if you don’t then your time will be affected as you change between stages.

Fortunately, I’ve tested a few suits and am confident that you’ll struggle to do better than the [easyazon_link identifier=”B07C5BVPLJ” locale=”US” tag=”upbeat-jan-20″]De Soto Forza ITU[/easyazon_link]. This is the best tri suit for Ironman no matter how experienced or inexperienced you are.

Keeping moisture away from your body is one of the most challenging aspects of a triathlon suit. It needs to keep the coldness of the water off your body while being able to remove your sweat as you run or cycle and keep you ventilated at the same time!

This is not an easy feat but is one that the [easyazon_link identifier=”B07C5BVPLJ” locale=”US” tag=”upbeat-jan-20″]De Soto Forza ITU[/easyazon_link] does very well; which is why it is top of this list.

De Soto Forza ITU – Best Tri Suit For Ironman

Best Tri Suit For Ironman

View on Amazon

There is no doubt in my mind that this is the best tri suit for Ironman no matter what level you are competing at. There are a number of great features:

High-Quality Material –Liftfoil with coldblack lower abdomen panel

Approved By International Triathlon Union (ITU)

7mm Clasico Integrate Pad

Curvilinear Seamlines & Contrast Flatstitch

Weight of just 8 ounces

Advantages

The Material

It doesn’t matter if you choose the [easyazon_link identifier=”B07C5BVPLJ” locale=”US” tag=”upbeat-jan-20″]De Soto tri suit[/easyazon_link] in black, red or blue it will come with the coldblack lower body abdomen panel and a top made from liftfoil. These are designed to keep you cool while running and cycling and warm while swimming; even in the river or the sea.

The suit also has a compression double-legband 12” YKK zipper in the back. The ITU rules no longer allow this at the front.

You’ll also find the Clasico 7mm float pad is perfect when in the water; you will swim faster. The pad actually stretches with the suit to act as a second skin; preventing you from being irritated by the friction and chafing as you move.

The coldblack panels are designed to deflect UV rays; helping to reduce the threat of damage by strong sunshine while exercising. This doesn’t mean you shouldn’t use sun cream as well, but it will give you some peace of mind as you exercise.

Customer Service

This is so good that it is worth mentioning in its own category. The customer service is excellent. You will be guided through the process to find the right suit for you and the right size. It’s not just about the size of your body; your intended use and style of exercise make a difference.

The customer service team now this and help you find the perfect suit for your needs; this is part of the reason the [easyazon_link identifier=”B07C5BVPLJ” locale=”US” tag=”upbeat-jan-20″]De Soto Forza ITU[/easyazon_link] is the best tri suit for Ironman.

Waterlid Pockets

These are a great feature to ensure that you are able to carry small items without creating any drag. This eliminates the need for a wetsuit and helps you increase your time on the swimming section.

Without the lids, the water will immerse itself into your pockets and create additional drag. These pockets are designed to be waterproof to help protect your valuable nutrition; essential in the Ironman contests.

Disadvantages

Rear Zipper

Most athletes do not find this an issue and it is necessary if you’re intending to compete in any professional race.

However, if you’re able to roll it down during a race to help keep you cool then you may find it awkward to do.

If you’re intending to compete there is little you can do about this.

Summer Sun

Even though it has a coolblack top section, it is still black. Several people have commented that on a hot day this will attract the heat of the sun and make you hotter than you need to be.

This wasn’t an issue I discovered while using the [easyazon_link identifier=”B07C5BVPLJ” locale=”US” tag=”upbeat-jan-20″]De Soto Forza ITU[/easyazon_link].

Louis Garneau Course M-2 Skin – Best If You Suffer From Heat On The Running Section

[easyazon_image align=”none” height=”500″ identifier=”B016OM0IVI” locale=”US” src=”https://images-na.ssl-images-amazon.com/images/I/41a-rswStXL.jpg” tag=”upbeat-jan-20″ width=”500″]

View on Amazon

One-piece tri suit with attached zipper top

Made with patten Speedtech material

Utilizes coldblack to help keep you cool

2 gel pockets to store nutrition

Advantages

Zipper Top

Unlike many of the tri suit offerings, the top of the [easyazon_link identifier=”B016OM0IVI” locale=”US” tag=”upbeat-jan-20″]Louis Garneau Course M-2 Skin[/easyazon_link] is designed to allow you to unzip at the front and still have a shirt on underneath. This prevents you from breaking any race rules. But, the unzipped top allows the air to flow freely around and through the mesh material; helping you to stay cool while running or even cycling.

Speedtech Material

This is a material that has been created by Louis Garneau and has a dimpled construction that can make a difference to aerodynamics if you’re traveling between 25 and 70 km/h.

The fabric is capable of reducing your CdA by as much as 6% which could reduce your time by as much as two and a half minutes on a 90km flat course!

Gel Pockets

Nutrition is essential when competing in triathlons or Ironman contests, this is why the two gel pockets are an essential addition. But, they have been created as part of the inner top; you’ll need to unzip the outer jacket to get to them.

While you won’t be accessing the on the swim this does make them perfectly positioned for the running section; when you’re most likely to need them.

Disadvantages

Form Fitting

This suit fits perfectly. However, as with anything that hugs your figure you will find it reveals every curve; even those that you don’t feel comfortable showing.

This is particularly noticeable around your stomach area!

Wearing Cycling Bibs

Most sleeved tri suits support the suit through the arms; helping to prevent it from sliding or creating wrinkles. [easyazon_link identifier=”B016OM0IVI” locale=”US” tag=”upbeat-jan-20″]The M-2 [/easyazon_link] feels like you are supporting the entire suit on your shoulders; which in fact you are.

Some people find this exceptionally comfortable but others have had issues regarding comfort, particularly during the running stages.

[easyazon_image align=”none” height=”500″ identifier=”B01N14MILL” locale=”US” src=”https://images-na.ssl-images-amazon.com/images/I/41SOLBkfi6L.jpg” tag=”upbeat-jan-20″ width=”500″]

Mesh Panel Backing

Front Zipper

Chili Red Color Smart not Flashy

85% Nylon / 15% Spandex

Stretch Drawstring For Waist

Weighs 7.8 ounces

Advantages

Comfort

The mesh panels on the back allow for excellent breathability while running and cycling without hindering progress in the water.

It has a front zip to help increase ventilation if needed although there is no protector so you’ll need to watch your skin when zipping or unzipping in a hurry.

The material actually feels very thin but it is surprisingly durable and the lightness helps to maintain comfort.

The pad in this suit is thin but works exceptionally well; ensuring you’re comfortable on the bike without getting in the way while you run.

Quick Drying

It’s very important to have a suit that dries quickly after you have left the swimming section and are starting to run. All of these suits do this well; the [easyazon_link identifier=”B01N14MILL” locale=”US” tag=”upbeat-jan-20″]Sugoi RPM tri suit[/easyazon_link] does this exceptionally well.

Disadvantages

Padding At Front Of Suit Lacking

There have been several comments regarding the padding at the front of the suit failing to provide adequate protection for your important parts.

This separate to the issue of comfort while riding; one of the biggest issues in any Ironman contest; you may not find it an issue but it is important to be aware of it.

Quality Issues

In general, the suit is well made but several consumers have noted that you’ll find the odd thread coming out or perhaps a piece that could have been finished better.

These issues are generally very minor and not worth complaining about. Although it is worth noting the customer service response is excellent.

Pocket Sizes

The pockets are a little on the small size; you’ll struggle to put a power bar into them. Nutrition gels are fine but you may struggle to get to the gels while you’re moving.

It may get easier with use. However, the few seconds it delays you every time will probably not make a huge difference to your time if you are new to the triathlon. It could be an issue if you’re getting serious; you can’t afford to lose any seconds.

Summing Up The Best Tri Suit For Ironman

There is no doubt that a tri suit is an important part of your training and competition entry as the actual training and the fitness watch you wear. Not only is it more aerodynamic than most other options, but it will also save you from having to waste time transitioning between clothing.

Whether you’re a first time triathlete completing pull-ups or if you’re doing the Ironman challenge for the 10th time; you’ll welcome the convenience and time-saving benefits of these suits.

However, it is important that you choose a suit that fits comfortably, dries quickly, and feels like you’re not wearing a suit at all.

There are plenty to choose from but the [easyazon_link identifier=”B00AU82LFY” locale=”US” tag=”upbeat-jan-20″]De Soto Forza ITU[/easyazon_link] is, to my mind; the best you can buy for a very reasonable price. You will notice an improvement in your times and your comfort level.

Don’t delay, try it today and show the world how serious you are about being the best you can be!

I’ve been taking part in local triathlons for a few years and, by my own admission, starting to do pretty well. It seems natural to want to progress but I have to admit the Ironman competition seems a step too far. But then I started to think about the Half Ironman….

Of course to properly prepare and compete you need the best tri suit for Half Ironman. That’s why I started to take a look at what’s available and which one will benefit me the most. I came to the conclusion that the [easyazon_link identifier=”B079FFK89N” locale=”US” tag=”upbeat-jan-20″]2XU Elite compression tri suit[/easyazon_link] was the best suit for half Ironman.

The Half Ironman is exactly half the distance of the full Ironman; that’s why it’s often referred to as the Ironman 70.3. A 1.2 mile swim, 56-mile bike ride, and a 13.1 mile run has to be completed in eight and a half hours. I need the right gear on my side!

I should point out that I’ve tried the two-piece option and don’t like the way it rides up; for me the best tri suit for half Ironman has to be a one piece suit! That’s not to say that the right shoes and wetsuit are not beneficial!

Best tri suit for half ironman

2xu Elite Compression Tri Suit – Best For Quality

[easyazon_image align=”none” height=”500″ identifier=”B00ND1NHGC” locale=”US” src=”https://images-na.ssl-images-amazon.com/images/I/41i0BM59I9L.jpg” tag=”upbeat-jan-20″ width=”500″]

View on Amazon

The [easyazon_link identifier=”B00ND1NHGC” locale=”US” tag=”upbeat-jan-20″]2XU Elite compression tri suit[/easyazon_link] is without doubt the best tri suit for Half Ironman simply because of the quality of its build. It is an advancement on their own design; being stronger and more durable than any previous offering.

2XU is dedicated to providing the highest quality equipment for triathlons no matter where you are in the world. They spend hours researching and developing each product; and it shows!

Made using 105 D / CK fabric

Uses Compression To Facilitate Proper Circulation

80% Nylon 20% Elastane

3 Rear Pockets

Flatlock Stitching

Advantages

Latest Technology

The [easyazon_link identifier=”B00ND1NHGC” locale=”US” tag=”upbeat-jan-20″]2XU Elite Compression[/easyazon_link] is designed to compress your muscles encouraging proper circulation. This will help your muscles to get the nutrients and oxygen they need to keep pumping. It also facilitates the removal of lactic acid. This can be a big issue for your muscles after training or racing; getting rid of it decreases your recovery time and helps you to train harder and for longer.

Also incorporated in the material are the cool touch and UV block systems. These will help to prevent you getting sunburned while competing and can actually lower your body temperature by as much as 5.4° Fahrenheit.

Durability

The Elite Compression is built to last. Attention has been made to every detail; from the stitching to the material to ensure it can be used time and time again.

After all, there is no point in getting comfortable while training only to discover the suit has worn out before the race.

The suit incorporates memory tech LD chamois which increases the support you’ll get; particularly during the cycling stage. It also dries quickly to ensure maximum comfort and aerodynamics.

Stitching

You’ll notice the stitching is flatlock. This means it won’t chafe against your skin as you complete the different stages. It is also not bulky; allowing you to slide a wet suit over the top for the swimming leg; if you need to.

Range Of Sizes

It’s good to see a company catering for a wide array of sizes. The size goes from small to XXL; there should be something to fit no matter how you are built.

However, it is important to try the suit on before you buy. A small size can be tight in the chest area but this can be relieved via the semi-lock zipper on the front.

However, you can’t compensate for the tight fit of a compression suit; that’s why you need to try them on to establish the right one for your needs.

Disadvantages

Compression

Compression fit is designed to constrict your body and can be beneficial. However, part of competing in a triathlon has to be your comfort level. If you don’t like the feeling of being constricted; especially on a hot day; then this may not be the best suit for you.

Stretching Effect

The [easyazon_link identifier=”B00ND1NHGC” locale=”US” tag=”upbeat-jan-20″]2XU Elite Compression[/easyazon_link] stretches to accommodate your exact figure. This helps to make it extremely comfortable. However, this stretch only lasts for a while. This can mean the suit feels less comfortable as you race.

It’s important to be aware of this and test your suit before the big day.

Zoot Sports Ultra Tri Suit – Best For Value

[easyazon_image align=”none” height=”500″ identifier=”B00L6CA3RQ” locale=”US” src=”https://images-na.ssl-images-amazon.com/images/I/31CCzB3wg7L.jpg” tag=”upbeat-jan-20″ width=”338″]

View on Amazon

Zoot has been making tri suits since 1983 and is considered one of the leading running and triathlon sportswear providers.

With their experience providing suits to the most elite athletes it’s not surprising to find that their modern suits make an excellent option for any triathlon and one of the best tri suit for Half Ironman.

80% Polyamide & 20% Elastane

Coldback technology

4 Pockets for storage; on back and hips

Sun protection

Advantages

Latest Technology

Coldblack technology isn’t that new any more but the [easyazon_link identifier=”B00L6CA3RQ” locale=”US” tag=”upbeat-jan-20″]Zoot Sports Ultra tri suit[/easyazon_link] uses a 225gm inset which is 82% polyester and 18% spandex. The mesh is 79% nylon and 21% spandex. The result is a tri suit that will stretch to fit your body while blocking UV rays and helping to keep you cool while running or cycling.

Comfort

Zoot have also added a tri carbon chamois to ensure your comfort even when racing hard. This mixes perfectly with the ultra bio wrap leg hem and reflective gripper. It will keep the suit in position while giving you additional visibility.

It may not be necessary when you’re in the middle of the race but you’ll appreciate it on those early morning training runs!

The leg hem is also designed to provide muscle support; helping you to go further, faster. It should limit muscle damage caused by the vibrations as you compete.

In addition the [easyazon_link identifier=”B07C4PM4VV” locale=”US” tag=”upbeat-jan-20″]Sports Ultra tri suit[/easyazon_link] has anti-friction panels built into it. These are designed to prevent chaffing and help to remove excess moisture. I found they really worked!

Easy Access

You shouldn’t need to take the tri suit off while racing but it is nice to note that it slides on and off very easily without the need for lotions. This is a blessing after completing the 70.3.

Disadvantages

Thigh Cuts

There have been some reports of thigh cuts, particularly after long-distance events. These appear to be isolated cases but it is important to assess the comfort and the fit of your tri suit before you decide it is the best tri suit for half Ironman.

Lack Of Compression

For many competitors, this is a disadvantage. Compression suits help to boost circulation and improve your performance and endurance.

However, some people think they are too tight; in which case the lack of compression is an advantage; not a disadvantage.

Built-In Bra

The [easyazon_link identifier=”B07JHJRYFQ” locale=”US” tag=”upbeat-jan-20″]Zoot Sports Ultra tri suit[/easyazon_link] can be bought as men’s or women’s. The women’s version has a built-in bra but the support it offers is inadequate.

This leaves you needing to wear a second bra and risk chaffing or suffer the pain associated with a lack of breast support.

Zip Issues

It is also worth noting that some users have reported chaffing issues thanks to the zip; there is no flap protecting it from contacting your skin.

[easyazon_image align=”none” height=”500″ identifier=”B07D4PC3JQ” locale=”US” src=”https://images-na.ssl-images-amazon.com/images/I/416mP5MO2yL.jpg” tag=”upbeat-jan-20″ width=”500″]

Advantages

Anti Chaffing

As a competitor Stefan knows the issues with chaffing. This suit has been designed to eliminate them. There are large armholes, soft leg grippers (made from silicone) and even an adjustable zipper to help ensure the fit is perfect.

In addition, the stitches are all flatlock; this prevents them from irritating your skin in each part of the race. It’s worth noting that every seam is also triple stitched to ensure there are no embarrassing moments.

Top Quality Material

The fabric has been created to provide the advantages of compression suits without the feeling of being restricted. This helps you perform better and remain comfortable.

This material is also designed to be exceptionally durable and breathable; maximizing your comfort as you race through each stage.

In fact, you should notice the suit is almost instantly dry when you leave the water!

Buoyancy

The [easyazon_link identifier=”B07D4PC3JQ” locale=”US” tag=”upbeat-jan-20″]Synergy tri suit[/easyazon_link] is designed to provide the maximum amount of buoyancy for the swimming stage of your triathlon. This will help you to occupy the perfect, slightly downward, position and get your best swimming time yet.

Semi-Compressing

The legs are snug as they utilize compression materials; helping to maintain blood flow and keep your legs pumping during the race.

In contrast, the rest of the suit focuses on comfort, durability and aerodynamics; allowing you to record your best time ever.

Disadvantages

Ballooning Neckline

There have been several cases when competitors have reported the neckline starts to balloon during the race. This can be uncomfortable and cost you valuable time.

Tight Leg Opening

The suit comes in a variety of sizes but, thanks to the compression element the legs are a tight fit. This can make it difficult to find the right size for your needs.

That said, once it’s on you’ll feel fantastic and be eager to race!
